Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Broome
Your journey begins as you arrive in Broome, where you’ll be greeted and transferred to the iconic Cable Beach Resort. After settling in, enjoy a gentle introduction to this colourful coastal town before preparing for the evening.
As the sun begins to set, enjoy a camel ride along the golden sands of Cable Beach. Framed by the breathtaking Kimberley sky over the Indian Ocean, this is one of the most photographed experiences in Western Australia.
Return to the resort for dinner at the Sunset Bar & Grill before resting overnight at Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa.
Day 2: Broome > Horizontal Falls
Set off early to Derby in the comfort of our luxury 4WD coach to board a seaplane to one of the Kimberley's most famous landmarks, Horizontal Falls. Fly over the amazing islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago before landing on the calm waters of Talbot Bay.
After landing, enjoy morning tea and then be captivated by a power boat ride through the Horizontal Waterfalls, plus a delightful lunch, a relaxed island cruise followed by the shark show and swim in the secure marine viewing platform.
Fly back to Derby and start the journey along the world-renowned Gibb River Road to the West Kimberley’s outback oasis, Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge, located within the Wunaamin Miliwundi Ranges. On the drive in, learn about the history of the lodge, and discover why Mount Hart is known as “The Ultimate Gibb River Road Adventure!”
Unwind at Uncle Tony's Jungle Bar for a sunset drink before heading to Pippa's Corner Restaurant for a premium three-course dining experience, crafted from Western Australian premium produce.
After dinner, stroll back to your accommodation beneath one of the clearest skies in the world. Pause for a moment, look up, and take in the breathtaking sight of the Milky Way.
Day 3: Mount Hart > Twin Flame Falls > Mount Hart
Start the morning with breakfast at Pippa’s Corner and prepare for an unforgettable day.
Take to the skies on a breathtaking helicopter flight before landing at Twin Flame Falls (Walunda), a towering 300-foot, two-tiered waterfall that will leave you speechless. Surrounded by towering red rock cliffs, enjoy an outback picnic, guided hike, and swim under a hidden waterfall in one of the Kimberley’s most remote natural wonders, that is inaccessible by 4WD.
During this day, also visit some of Mount Hart’s local gorges and swimming spots, including Matthew Gorge (Dawungumen Mindi) and Barker Pool (Dudungarri Mindi).
Return to Mount Hart in time to relax with sunset drinks, before gathering for a premium three-course dinner at Pippa’s Corner Restaurant.
Day 4: Mount Hart > Bell Gorge > Mount Hart
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at Pippa’s Corner before setting out along the Gibb River Road to the iconic Bell Gorge (Dalmanyi). Surrounded by towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls, embark on a guided hike into the gorge, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural top pool. For those seeking a little more adventure, continue with a guided rock climb down to the lower pool to immerse yourself in its cool waters.
For lunch, enjoy an outback picnic at the gorge, before journeying back to Mount Hart via the Gibb River Road. As the day winds down, relax with a refreshing swim in the Barker River followed by a sunset drink, before enjoying a relaxed meal in the alfresco setting of Uncle Tonys Jungle Bar.
Day 5: Mount Hart > Galvans Gorge > Drysdale River Station
Begin your day nice and early with a hearty breakfast at Pippa’s Corner before bidding farewell to Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge and setting out via the Gibb River Road. Stop at Galvans Gorge, a popular swimming spot with a small waterfall flowing into a horseshoe shaped pool. Enjoy the short hike to the pool before enjoying an outback picnic at the gorge.
Continue north along Kalumburu Road to Drysdale River Station, a remote working cattle station offering a true outback experience. Unwind after your day of exploring and enjoy dinner before settling in for the night in your accommodation.
Day 6: Drysdale River Station > Mitchell Falls > Drysdale River Station
Begin your day with an early breakfast at Drysdale River Station before embarking on a Mitchell Falls adventure day. Depart from the Drysdale airfield on a scenic flight to the Mitchell Plateau, followed by a 4WD transfer to the start of the Punamii-unpuu Hiking Trail.
Journey through ancient sandstone country and visit Little Merten Falls, where can cool off in the crystal-clear rock pools. Continue on to Big Merten Falls for breathtaking views before reaching the majestic Mitchell Falls, one of the region’s most iconic landmarks.
Enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the falls, then board a helicopter transfer for a spectacular aerial view of the cascades before returning to the Mitchell Plateau airfield. A scenic flight brings you back to Drysdale River Station, where a hearty dinner awaits and you can unwind after an incredible day of exploration.
Day 7: Drysdale River Station > Pentecost River > El Questro Station
Enjoy your final breakfast at Drysdale River Station before beginning the journey toward El Questro Station. Along the way, take in one of the Kimberley’s most famed moments as you cross the world-renowned Pentecost River, surrounded by sweeping views of the Cockburn Ranges.
This evening settle into the El Questro accommodation and enjoy a three-course meal in the Restaurant.
Day 8: El Questro > Zebedee Thermal Springs > Chamberlain River Gorge cruise > El Questro
This morning, ease into the day with a swim in the warm, crystal-clear waters of Zebedee Thermal Springs, a tranquil oasis tucked beneath towering palms.
Return to El Questro for a hearty lunch before embarking on a spectacular sunset cruise along the Chamberlain River. Drift through the dramatic cliffs of Chamberlain Gorge and learn about the region’s diverse wildlife before returning for dinner at El Questro, where you will stay for the next few nights.
Day 9: El Questro > Emma Gorge > El Questro
Start the day with breakfast in the restaurant.
After breakfast, make your way to Emma Gorge, one of the Kimberley’s most iconic natural attractions. Wander along a scenic trail through towering red cliffs and lush greenery before reaching the stunning waterfall-fed plunge pool for a refreshing swim.
After a day of exploring, head back to El Questro. Unwind at the Station in the afternoon and take in the serenity as you browse local and regional artwork at the Art Gallery before heading to another glorious dinner.
Day 10: El Questro > Kununurra
Begin your morning with a scenic journey toward Wyndham, where you’ll take in the sweeping panoramic views from Five Rivers Lookout. From this vantage point, the meeting of the Ord, Pentecost, Durack, King, and Forrest Rivers creates a stunning natural panorama across the Cambridge Gulf.
Continue to Parry Lagoons, a haven for birdlife and one of the East Kimberley’s most significant wetlands. This afternoon, travel to Kununurra and settle into the Kununurra Country Club.
Day 11: Kununurra > Lake Argyle > Kununurra
Enjoy a relaxed morning in Kununurra, with some time to explore the town centre.
Late morning, travel out toward Lake Argyle, taking in the rugged scenery and learning about the region’s pioneering history as you make your way to the dam precinct.
In the afternoon, board your Ord River Cruise for a memorable three-hour journey along one of the Kimberley’s most remarkable waterways. As you cruise through towering gorges, learn about the Ord Irrigation Scheme, local wildlife, and the region’s unique ecosystems.
Return to Kununurra at sunset, where you’ll head back to the Kununurra Country Club for the evening.
Day 12: Kununurra > Echidna Chasm > Savannah Lodge
Depart Kununurra this morning and travel through the region’s rich farming country before making your way into the World Heritage Listed Purnululu National Park.
Your first stop is Echidna Chasm, a spectacular long, narrow chasm. As you wander through its towering walls, watch the colours shift and glow with the angle of the sun.
This evening, settle into your accommodation at Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge, where you can relax and unwind before dinner.
Day 13: Savannah Lodge > Bungle Bungles > Cathedral Gorge > Savannah Lodge
Board a scenic helicopter flight over the Bungle Bungle Range, located within the Purnululu National Park. Marvel at the striking beehive-shaped sandstone domes from above, an extraordinary natural wonder formed over 350 million years ago.
Touch down for morning tea before embarking on a guided walk into Cathedral Gorge, a natural amphitheatre renowned for its dramatic crimson canyon and remarkable acoustics. Learn about the cultural and geological significance of this site as you explore, before pausing to enjoy a picnic-style lunch amid this incredible landscape.
After a full day exploring Purnululu National Park, return to Savannah Lodge for a relaxed evening and dinner.
Day 14: Savannah Lodge > China Wall > Mimbi Caves > Fitzroy River Lodge
Depart the Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge and head to the Mimbi Caves, via the remarkable ‘little’ China Wall, a striking, natural formation of white quartz.
At Mimbi Caves, a Gooniyandi guide will take you through remarkable underground landscape and share stories about a time when local Aboriginal people inhabited this unique network of caves.
Later, continue along the Great Northern Highway to Fitzroy River Lodge.
Day 15: Fitzroy River Lodge > Tunnel Creek > Windjana Gorge > Broome
Enjoy your final breakfast at Fitzroy River Lodge before journeying to Tunnel Creek (Dimalurru). Delve into the depths of this intricate tunnel system, spanning 750 metres.
Continue to Windjana Gorge (Bandilngan) to explore the towering limestone cliffs and pristine riverbed. As you explore, keep an eye out for freshwater crocodiles, alongside birdlife and other fascinating Kimberley wildlife. Pause for a gourmet picnic lunch framed by the gorge’s striking backdrop.
On the way back to town, visit the Prison Boab Tree (Kunumudj) which is believed to be over 1,500 years old and a culturally significant site for the local Nyikina and Warrwa people.
Arrive back in Broome by evening and settle in for your final night at Cable Beach Resort, the perfect place to relax and unwind. Here, your extraordinary Kimberley journey comes to a close, leaving you with memories that will last a lifetime.
